Guarding its virgin beauty and unspoiled charm, Ganapatipule Beach is possibly the most charming stretch along the Konkan Coast. Fine quality silvery sand and fringes boasting of splendidly grown palms, mangoes, cashews, betel nuts and jackfruits vegetations make this calm and clean beach the perfect escape from chaotic life. Cool breeze and warm sunrays fascinate the mind and soul as much as the melodious sea waves.
Some thousands of years old temple of Lord Ganesha is the reason for huge flocks of tourists to throng the beach. The self-manifested (swayambhu) idol of the lord is one of the Ashtha (8) Ganapatis found across India and is believed to fulfil every wish. Ganapatipule Beach offers great adventures in the form of kayaking and motorboats, water scooters, row and pedal boats and aero boats.
Climb the hill overlooking the beach and you can savour some breathtaking views of the place. Some good restaurants at the beach promise mouth-watering Marathi cuisines. The place is ideal for honeymoon couples, pilgrims as well as nature lovers.
Connectivites
Road:
An extremely pleasant and scenic drive passing through green Western Ghats and quaint villages lead to the beach. Nivali and Ratnagiri are the two nearest destinations from where buses as well as rented cabs regularly ply to this destination
Railway:
The beach is accessible from the two nearest railheads, one at Ratnagiri (about 28 km. away) and other at Bhoke (about 35 km. away). Taxis and cabs are the preferred modes of travelling to the beach from these points.
Airway:
Ratnagiri Airport is about 25 km. away, though a better option is the Kolhapur Airport which is about 160 km. away. Taxis are available from these airports to conveniently access the beach.
