Bustling with life and tourist activities throughout the day, Gandhi Chowk deserves to occupy the centre stage of any trip to Dalhousie. Also known as the G.P.O. because of Dalhousie’s post office located here, the place offers some exclusive views of the mountains and the valleys. The most popular attraction of the place is the Tibetan Market, where interesting handmade items like carpets, rugs, clothes, jewellery and handicrafts are sold.
 
Dalhousie’s most popular and the oldest eateries and restaurants are located at Gandhi Chowk. Many other exciting attractions of Dalhousies, including Panchpula and the old Church are located in the close proximity. A reading room and a library at the chowk are also frequently visited by the tourists. Visit the place in the evening and you will experience myriad of activities going all around. Road: Located well in the heart of the hill station, the chowk itself is the meeting point of 8 roads. Walking is not only the most convenient, but also a pleasant way to access Gandhi Chowk.

Railway: Pathankot Junction (about 80 km. away) in the neighbouring state of Punjab is the nearest railway station to Dalhousie. Regular buses ply from Pathankot, but prefer to hire a taxi for more comfortable and scenic road trip.

Airway: • Pathankot also has the closest airport, about 85 km. from this location in Dalhousie. Again, you can rely on taxi services for a hassle-free road journey to the hill station.
