Irpu falls are located on the Brahmagiri Range and are also known by the name Lakshmana Tritha Falls. According to legends, Lord Rama and Lord Lakshmana visited this area in search of Goddess Sita. Lord Rama Felt thirsty and so Lord Lakshmana shot an arrow and created these falls.
 
This is a very famous tourist attraction as well as a pilgrimage spot for many Hindus. It attracts a large number of pilgrims during the Shivaratri festival. It is a visual treat for the tourists to see the magnificent 20 meters waterfall and experience a back thumping massage when under it.
 
The most exciting part is the small trek through the forests to reach the waterfall. It is a refreshing place that offers beautiful and serene natural beauty. The trekking area could be a little slippery and therefore one must ensure to wear trekking shoes or sneakers to walk comfortably.

Road: Irpu Falls is well connected by road. Many private and government bus services are available from major cities like Coorg (about 61 km.), Madikeri (about 75 km.) and Mysore (about 107 km.). Several buses and taxis ply regularly to reach the waterfall area.

Railway: Mysore Railway Station (about 106 km.) is the nearest rail head to reach Irpu Falls comfortably.

Airway: Nearest airport to reach Irpu Falls is Mysore Airport (about 111 km.). Regular flights from major cities are available to reach this place. Buses and private cabs can be hired for reaching the waterfall area from the airport.
