Goddess Shakti blesses her devotees and pilgrims while resting at her abodes sheltered in the mountains of Himalayas. The sacred shrine dedicated to Mata Vaishno Devi in the state of Jammu & Kashmir is thronged by millions of visitors every year. Located on the Trikuta Mountain that can be accessed by a steep trek of about 13 km., the temple is believed to fulfil everyone’s wishes and to remove their sins and sorrows. Ponies, palanquins and helicopters are also available for those who don’t wish to indulge in the difficult trek. Counted among 108 Shakti Peethas, the temple is a must-visit to obtain divine power from the goddess.

Itinerary Details

Day by Day itineraryDay 1: JammuArrival – Katra (50 km.)

Take the scheduled flight or train to reach Jammu, the winter capitalof the state. Our representative will meet you at the airport or railwaystation and escort you to Katra, the base from where the trek to the shrinebegins. On arrival, transfer to the hotel and take rest. Move out in theevening to explore the town and its markets full of souvenirs. Return to thehotel late evening.

Day 2: Katra – Vaishno Devi Shrine – Katra

Depending on the option you choose, you will: Begin the trek of about 13 km. early morning to access the shrine. On the way, you may wish to visit many holy spots like Banganga Temple, Charan Paduka Temple, Adi Kumari Shrine and others. Pray at the main shrine and get back to Katra by evening. Board the helicopter to reach the helipad at Sanjhi Chat, from where you will trek a small distance to the shrine. After visiting the shrine, get back to Sanjhi Chat and board the helicopter to Katra. Return to the hotel and take rest.

Day 3: Katra – Jammu

Have breakfast and check out to leave for Jammu. We will drop youat the airport or railway station for your preferred connecting journey. Thetour ends here.

Thanks to Waytoindia for 10 day in Rajasthan- Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Mount Abu and Ahmedabad. Everything from pickup from Jaipur airport to drop at Ahmedabad airport was very smooth. The hotels booked in Jaipur and Udaipur were amazing. In Jaisalmer the camel ride and Jeep safari though a bit expensive was a good experience. The car and the driver for the entire 10 days was very good. Thanks to the driver Mahesh, who drove the 2 ladies for the entire 10 days safely and dropped us in time for the return flight to Bangalore.
