Bhindawas Bird Sanctuary

Bhindawas Lake was constructed to store the water escaping from the Jawaharlal Nehru Canal and today it is a popular site of Bhindawas Bird Sanctuary. This manmade wetland greets hundreds of native and migratory birds from all over the world. Adorned with greenery and natural beauty, the lake is a must-visit for bird-watchers. Some of the most commonly spotted birds at the sanctuary include black francolin, comb duck, Eurasian pigeon, red vented bulbul, ruddy shelduck, pied cuckoo, white throated kingfisher, rose-ringed parakeet, crested lark, purple swamphen, jungle babbler and many others. One may also come across blue bull antelope, jackal and jungle cat here. Climb the watchtowers to have magnificent views of the lake covered with flocks of birds. The 12 km. long embankment can be travelled in vehicle to take a full circle of the lake.
