Sultan Alla-Ud-Din Bahman chose the beautiful location of Bidar as the capital of his new kingdom and constructed the marvel called Bidar Fort. Though some parts are in the state of ruins, the fort is still capable of impressing the visitors with its Persian style architecture and serene environment. Located on the Deccan Plateau, the fort boasts of triple-moat wall, multiple gateways, colourful tiles, calligraphy work, flower motifs and much more. The fort houses several structures including royal palaces like Gagan Palace (known for beautiful mosaics, red sandstone and black granite adornments and splendid arches) and Rangin Mahal (adorned with glassy floors, splendid carvings and pleasing wooden furnishings). Solah Khamba Mosque and Jami Mosque are other two structures worth visiting. You can also explore Zenana Palace, watch tower, Takhat Mahal and lavish gardens of the fort.
