Numerous streams of Western Ghats combine and fall on huge boulders, creating the melodious and cascading falls. Water pool created below the falls further joins River Cauvery. Photography and a visit to an old temple dedicated to Goddess Kali would surely make your visit to Abbey Falls memorable. If you wish to trek here, do not forget to carry your trekking shoes. You can also visit some of the places nearby viz. Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary, Madikeri Fort, Bhagamandala Temple, Dubare Elephant Camp. Warning Getting into the pool is not recommended especially during monsoons and winters. The water also contains leeches.
