Famous as one of the largest freshwater lakes in North East India, Loktak Lake houses a large collection of flora and fauna. Recognized as the world’s only ‘Floating Lake,’ this lake is designated as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention on 23 March, 1990. The rich biodiversity and unadulterated beauty surrounding this lake attracts visitors from around the world. Loktak Lake is habitat to about 116 bird species and 233 fauna species. Tourists can enjoy eating at the various food joints located nearby and enjoy nerve-chilling water sport activities.
