Pagoda Point is a popular vantage point at the picturesque hill station of Yercaud, located in the Shevaroy Hills of Eastern Ghats. Also known as Pyramid Point, this place gets its name from a temple of pagoda in the shape of a pyramid, formed using the four piles of stones by the local tribal residents. The temple is dedicated to Lord Rama and has a great religious significance among the devotees. However, the site is more famous among the visitors for offering breathtaking views of the surrounding cliffs and valleys and the settlements of Salem and Kakambadi. It is recommended to visit the point in the morning or in the evening to have spectacular views of the rising or the setting sun. Visitors to the place are delighted by the fresh and cool breeze and soul-touching silence. Adventurers can enjoy many thrilling activities like rock climbing, quad biking and arrow shooting. Photography is another suggested activity at Pagoda Point, offering amazing landscapes worth capturing. It is not advised to plan the trip when the place is covered in mist.
