Popular for its Shani Temple, Shani Shinganapur is tiny yet unique village situated in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Famous for having no doors and locks in any house, the village is said to be protected by the God of power - Shani. Visited by thousands of devotees every day, the village does not have a temple structure. There ismerean open-air platform that houses the idol of Shanidev. Only male devotees are allowed to worship the idol. The Shani idol in the village can be worshipped from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. In order to worship the idol, male devotees should first take bath in open and wear dhoti without upper garment. Shani Shinganapur is usually crowded on Saturdays, because it is considered to be the favourite day of Lord Shanaishwara. Visitors to Shani Shinganapur can also visit nearby attractions like Shirdi, Ranjangaon, tomb of Sant Shri Udasi Baba and Shri Dattatraya Temple.
