Bhadrakali Temple

One of the oldest Hindu temples dedicated to Bhadrakali (a form of Goddess Kali), Bhadrakali Temple in the holy city of Warangal is visited by flocks of pilgrims every year. Located on the exquisite Lake Bhadrakali, the temple is surrounded by huge boulders and houses a beautiful idol of the Goddess. There are statues and carvings of Goddess’s mount lion, Subramanya Swamy, Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva. Constructed way back in the 7th century, the temple lost its significance at the end of the Medieval Age and was renovated in 1940s. There are more than a dozen temples of religious importance in the close proximity. One can enjoy boating at the lake. Another engrossing activity is to watch the sun majestically setting down behind the lake. Warnings Strict cloth codes must be followed at some temples. Entry to non-Hindus is prohibited in few temples. Strictly follow the rules and rituals.
