The exoticness of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is well-preserved at Sippighat Farm, an 80 acre area dedicated to the cultivation of spices and nuts. Located about 15 km. from the capital city of Port Blair, the farm belongs to the Central Agricultural Research Institute which was established with an aim to study the methods for improving spice cultivation in the region. The charm of the place lies in the greenery conferred by the plantations of coconut, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and peppers. In addition, one can enjoy the company of exotic birds like Pacific Golden Plover, Mongolian Plover and Eurasian Curlew among others. Close to the farm is yet another popular attraction called Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. Apart from exploring the nature’s splendour, one can take part in thrilling water sports at the SAI Water Sports Complex. Kayaking, snorkelling and motor boat riding are the popular activities worth enjoying at the inviting waters of the Bay of Bengal.

By air: The airport at Port Blair is about 15 km. from the farm. Taxis and auto-rickshaws are available near the airport to reach the place conveniently.
By rail: There are no railways at the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The nearest railway station on the India’s mainland is at Paradip, which is more than 1,150 km. from Port Blair.
By road: The road connecting the farm with Port Blair is in good condition and offers scenic beauty along the way. It is possible to board a bus to reach the spot or you may prefer to hire a taxi, cab or an auto-rickshaw.
