Yadadri Darshan: what you need in 2026

Temple and pilgrimageLast checked 14 September 2026
The short answer for Yadadri Darshan

Yadadri, at Yadagirigutta near Hyderabad in Telangana, is a famous hill temple of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, a fierce and protective form of Vishnu.

Your ordinary darshan is free. In recent years the Telangana government rebuilt the temple in grand stone. It now draws large crowds. For a shorter wait you book a quick darshan, and you book sevas and rooms, on the official Devasthanam site. You book on the official Devasthanam channel, not on a reseller.

WayToIndia guides you to the official site, and can arrange it for you where a registered channel is needed. We never charge you for a free government permit.
01

Free and special darshan

  • Your ordinary darshan of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy is free and open to all.
  • For a shorter wait you book a paid quick darshan on the official Devasthanam site.
  • On weekends, on Narasimha Jayanti, and on festival days the crowds are large, so book ahead and reach early.

02

Sevas and rooms

On the official site you book sevas in your name, such as the special poojas to Lord Narasimha. You also book the Devasthanam rooms for pilgrims near the hill. You pay online and keep the message. You then show it at the temple or the guest house. Book a room early on festival days, when they fill fast.

03

The rebuilt temple, in plain words

Yadadri is special today for a big reason. The Telangana government rebuilt the old hill shrine into a grand temple in carved black stone, over several years. So you find a vast, new stone complex around the old cave shrine of Narasimha, with long halls and fresh facilities. Give yourself time to walk the complex and the hill, not only the main darshan.

04

How to book, step by step

Open the official Devasthanam site, yadagiriguttasrilakshminarasimhaswamy.org, and pick a quick darshan, a seva, or a room. Choose your date and slot, add your details, and pay online. Then download your pass. Reach the temple in good time, carry your confirmation and identity, and dress modestly, as at any temple.

05

How to reach

Yadadri is at Yadagirigutta, about sixty kilometres from Hyderabad in Telangana. The nearest airport and major railway are at Hyderabad, and there is a railway station at Raigir nearby. You reach the hill by road from Hyderabad in about ninety minutes, so many pilgrims make it a day trip from the city.

06

What to carry

Carry your booking confirmation, a photo identity, and a little cash or a card. Dress modestly. Carry water and be ready for a wait on busy days and festival days. If you book a quick darshan or a seva, reach in good time for your slot, because it runs to a schedule.

07

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Your biggest mistake would be booking on a private "VIP darshan" site, when the official channel is the Devasthanam, yadagiriguttasrilakshminarasimhaswamy.org. Next, do not come on a festival day without a plan, into a large crowd. Do not rush the new stone complex, which is worth your time. Do not miss pairing the trip with Hyderabad nearby.
