Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information, and the rights you have over it. Last updated 21 July 2026.

This policy applies to www.waytoindia.com, operated by Waytoindia Web Dynamics (“Way to India”, “we”, “us”), a travel company registered in New Delhi, India. It explains what we do with your personal information when you browse the site, send us an enquiry, or book a journey with us.

We have written it in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it.

The detail

Our commitments in full

1.Who we are

Way to India is the trading name of Waytoindia Web Dynamics, D-3, Basement, Shyam Sundar Malhotra Marg, Kalkaji, New Delhi 110019, India. For the purposes of Indian law we are the Data Fiduciary for your information, and for travellers in the United Kingdom and the European Union we act as the Data Controller.

This policy covers this website only. It does not cover any other website, whether or not it carries a similar name.

2.What we collect

We collect only what a travel enquiry or a booking genuinely needs.

  • Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, country, travel dates, the number and ages of travellers, and any preferences or requirements you tell us about.
  • Information a confirmed booking needs: traveller names as they appear on your passport, passport or ID details, nationality and date of birth, where a hotel, railway, airline or permit authority requires them.
  • Information you volunteer: dietary needs, mobility needs or a medical condition relevant to a high altitude or trekking itinerary. You do not have to give us this, but it helps us plan the trip safely.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the pages you viewed, collected through server logs and analytics.

We do not store your card details. Online payments are handled by the payment provider on their own systems, under their own security standards.

3.Why we use it

We use your information to answer your enquiry, prepare an itinerary and quote, make and confirm the bookings your trip needs, support you while you travel, take payment and issue invoices, meet legal and tax obligations, handle a complaint, and improve the website.

We send marketing email only to people who have asked for it. Every such email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect the emails about a booking you have made.

4.Who we share it with

We share your information only with the parties who have to have it to deliver your journey, and only the part they need:

  • Hotels, homestays and houseboats you are booked into
  • Transport operators, drivers, airlines and railway booking channels
  • Licensed guides and local ground handlers on your route
  • Government authorities where a permit, registration or entry requirement demands it
  • Payment providers, and our accountants and auditors
  • Our own representatives in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia, where they are handling your enquiry

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade your contact details to advertisers or list brokers. We may disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

5.Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use them to keep the site working, to remember your preferences, and to understand in aggregate how the site is used through analytics and advertising measurement tools. Analytics tells us that a page was viewed and roughly from where. It does not tell us who you are unless you have separately identified yourself by contacting us.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking them may stop parts of the site working as intended.

6.How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept for up to 24 months, so that we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us, and are then deleted. Booking and payment records are kept for as long as Indian tax and company law requires us to keep them. Marketing consents are kept until you withdraw them.

7.How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to booking records is restricted to the staff who need it to do their work, and is protected by individual accounts. We do not store card data. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, and we do not pretend otherwise, but if a breach affecting your information ever occurs we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

8.Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to do the following, and we will respond within 30 days:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • Give you a copy of it
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
  • Delete it, where we are not required to keep it for tax, legal or accounting reasons
  • Stop sending you marketing, at any time
  • Withdraw a consent you previously gave

These rights are given to travellers in India by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and to travellers in the United Kingdom and the European Union, including Ireland, by the UK and EU GDPR. Travellers in the UK or the EU may also complain to their national data protection authority, and travellers in India may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

9.International transfers

We are based in India, so if you contact us from abroad your information is processed in India. Where your journey requires it, information is also shared with suppliers in the countries you are travelling through, and with our representatives in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia. We share only what the supplier or representative needs for your booking.

10.Children

This website is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child. Where children are travelling as part of a family booking, their details are provided to us by the booking adult, who is responsible for them. If you believe a child has given us information directly, tell us and we will delete it.

11.Links to other sites

Our pages sometimes link to official tourism boards, temple trusts, monument authorities and other external sources so you can verify a fact for yourself. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Read their own policies before giving them information.

12.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, the revised version is posted on this page and the date at the top changes. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell people who have an active booking with us directly.

13.How to contact us

For any privacy question, or to exercise any of the rights above, write to our Grievance Officer at info@waytoindia.com or by post to Waytoindia Web Dynamics, D-3, Basement, Shyam Sundar Malhotra Marg, Kalkaji, New Delhi 110019, India. Please put “Privacy request” in the subject line so it reaches the right desk quickly.
