OverviewThe annual water carnival at Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha better known as Nehru Trophy Boat Race is considered as the “Biggest Snake Boat Race” in the world. It is the most famous of the boat races of Kerala which is a treat to see. This event is named after the late Prime Minister of India,Pandit Jawahar lal Nehru, who visited Alappuzha city in the year 1952. Enthralled by the sheer charm and gaiety of the water carnival he instituted the Nehru Trophy to encourage this water sports. This festival supports the unity and fraternity among the people and is a popular attraction for the tourists from all over the world who come in large numbers to witness this exciting activity.

Arrival at Cochin Airport/ Railway Station, meet our representative and transfer to the hotel and relax for some hours. Later visit Fort Kochi Beach, Chinese Fishing Net, Synagogue and Mattancherry palace. Return back to hotel in the evening for dinner & Overnight stay at hotel.
After a healthy breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Alleppey. On arrival, check into the House Boat. Tour will start from Alleppey Punnamada Jetty. Travel through the beautiful Back Waters. Enjoy the experience on Vembanadu Lake. In the afternoon enjoy the taste the Kerala Cuisine in a traditional way. Reach to Champakulam. En-route enjoy the local Kuttanadan Village Life. In the evening time walk through Kalloorkadu Market (oldest market in the Backwater Area). Then proceed to Othara for dinner & Overnight halt.
After breakfast continue your journey to Alleppey through Pampa River. One can have a short break at Karumady for swimming in the Fresh Water River. After lunch continues to Pallathuruthy. On arrival, you will be transferred by car to Punnamada Lake to witness the prestigious, pride and in comparable world famous colourful water Regatta. NEHRU CUP SNAKE BOAT RACE 01.30 P.M – Arrive at venue of Boat Race. 02.30 P.M – Snake Boats Race starts. Enjoy the full spectacular competition heats by heats. At the time of Intermission you can see the cultural programme. 04.30 P.M – Final competition to decide the winner of “NEHRU CUP’’ And later you will be transferred to your Houseboat. Enjoy dinner & Overnight stay on board.
After a leisure breakfast, on time check out from the House Boat and drive back to Cochin Airport/ Railway station for onward destination. Tour End
