Thattekad Thekkady Sanctuary Tour

Located in Kothamangalam Taluk of Ernakulam district in Kerala ,Thattekad Bird Sanctuary on the northern banks of the Periyar river is a home to some of the rarest species of birds in IndiaThis beautiful sanctuary is situated at Njayqapilli peak. The sanctuary was established in year 1983 and has more than 300 recorded species of forest and water birds which also include some migratory birds.Most noteable among the birds found here include large falcon, white breasted water hen,gray jungle fowl, jungle bush-quail and hornbill.
