Tagged as the most stunning waterfall of Uttarakhand, Kempty Falls are a complete entertainer. The fact that it is a perennial waterfall keeps it crowded with visitors throughout the year. A permanent stream falls from the altitude of about 4,500 ft. and creates this 40 ft. high marvel which apparently performs summersault over the rocks. An artificial water pond constructed at the base offers fabulous opportunity for the tourists to bathe and have exclusive fun.

The waterfall is surrounded by lavish green forests that add to its unbeatable charm. There are clean changing rooms and food stalls and shops selling delicious snacks and foods. One can also find shops selling artefacts and souvenirs. Kempty Falls were developed as a tourist attraction by a British official in 1835. The British would organize ‘camp-tea’ parties, which is probably the inspiration for the place’s name. Exciting accommodation huts are available for the tourists who wish to stay close to this strikingly beautiful natural attraction.

Road: The small hill journey of about 15 km. from Mussoorie to the falls is truly spectacular. Shared taxis and cabs can help you cover the distance. One needs to descend few stairs to reach the base of the waterfall. Alternatively, a ropeway cable car can be used for this purpose.

Railway: The nearest railway station is located about 46 km. away at Dehradun. From here, you can hire direct taxis to reach the splendid falls. Alternatively, board state transport buses to reach Mussoorie and continue the journey further.

Airway: Jolly Grant Airport of Dehradun is about 68 km. from the waterfall. It is recommended to hire direct taxis from here to enjoy a wonderful hill road journey to the falls.
