An artificial lake which enjoys the beauty of the Yelagiri Hills is no less than a natural lake in terms of impeccable beauty. Occupying an area of about 57 sq. km. the lake is famous for a fountain installed at its centre. Every evening, the fountain is lit up to add mesmerizing grandeur to the lake. Another attraction of the lake is the flora cultural garden surrounding it. Pathways around the lake let the visitors take leisurely walks and relish the unbeatable beauty of the place.

A watch tower and a bridge are other highlights of the place. Children can enjoy at an adjoining park offering slides. The lake is also an adventure spot, offering opportunities for paddle and row boating. Many species of birds can also be encountered near the lake which is a great place to relax and enjoy morning and evening walks and family picnics. The tourists need to pay additional cost to enjoy boating at the lake. Waterfalls and vantage points are among the nearby attractions for the visitors.

Road: Scenic road journeys are possible from Chennai in Tamil Nadu and Bangalore in Karnataka to the hill station of Yelagiri. ST buses and taxis are the possible modes of transport. The lake is located in the heart of the hill resort and can be accessed on foot from any corner.

Railway: Jolarpettai Railway Station is only about 20 km. from the lake. You can easily hire a taxi from the station to the lake.

Airway: The international airports of Bangalore and Chennai, respectively 181 km. and 217 km. from the lake, offer convenient access to the lake, preferably in taxis.
