Netrani Island

In the state of Karnataka comes a quaint island destination—Netrani (or Nethrani). When seen from a height, you will feel that the island is heart shaped. The place is popularly known as Pigeon Island as well and is one of the best sites in the country for scuba diving. As Nethrani is an island, there is no direct connectivity to the place via road or rail. However, the closest place is Murudeshwar that is well connected by road and rail. It is located about 19 km. from Nethrani. Murudeshwar is connected to several renowned cities such as Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai by regular bus services. It takes about 12 hours from Bangalore to Murudeshwar. The nearest airport to Murudeshwar is that of Mangalore, about 153 km. away. By train, Murudeshwar is connected to the leading cities such as Mumbai, Mangalore, Ahmedabad, Cochin and Trivandrum. From Murudeshwar to Nethrani Islands, you can choose to boat your way in!
