Introduction

The scenic town and hill station in the Nashik district of Maharashtra, Igatpuri has developed to be a popular tourist spot. This charming place is located at an altitude of 1,900 feet in the Western Ghats. The undulating hilly terrain with cascading waterfalls and dense forests is a real treat to the eyes. Igatpuri is a major railway station with all trains halting for about 20 minutes. There are also many prominent schools and colleges here. Taxi services are available from Mumbai to Igatpuri and the fare is about Rs. 2000. By Rail: Mumbai VT station and Igatpuri railway station are connected via Tapovan Express. Nearest railway station is Kasara (about 18 km.). Kasara to Igatpuri is about 30 minutes by taxi and the fare is about Rs. 300. By Road: Igatpuri is connected to all neighbouring cities by Maharashtra Road Transport Corporation. Regular buses connect Nashik, Mumbai and Kasara. Tourist bus fare from, Mumbai to Kasara is about Rs. 500. Auto rickshaw and buses are the available forlocal transport in Igatpuri.
