Chopta Valley has practically no designated places to eat at. However, the nearby villages like Thangu and Lachen host good eating points serving cuisines from India, Tibet and Nepal. Momos are the mouth-watering dumplings that can be enjoyed here. Noodles are also popular in the region. A dessert called Lopchu is also worth trying. Beer native to the region is prepared from millets and is good to taste.

Getting Around

Chopta Valley can be best visited by road from Thangu and Lachen, each offering four-wheeler services to access the place. It is recommended to obtain good tourist information at these nearby towns if you wish to trek further from Chopta Valley. An expert tourist guide can also be hired. Lachen has the nearest airport located at Siliguri in West Bengal at the distance of about 199 km. The city also has the nearest railhead which is about 191 km. away from Lachen. The whole region is a protected area and tourists, especially the foreigners, need to strictly follow the instructions to explore the attractions of Chopta Valley.
