Food in Ambassa reflects the regional cuisine comprising both vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. There are very few eateries that serve delicious local food made in authentic ways. You also get regular meals here with rice (called mai or mami) as the main dish and some curries along with. The local delicacies include bwtwi, chakhwi, awandru, chakhwtwi, thokni chatang, deng, gudok and hang.

The nearest rail station is also at Agartala (about 89 km. away), from where one can avail the buses or cabs to reach the destination.
