Known to be Nainital’s biggest and throbbing attraction, the Aerial Ropeway is famous as an adventurous and unique way to explore the virgin beauty of the hill station from 2270 mt. above sea level. Starting from Mallital to Sun-View Point, this cable car arrangement has two trolleys to carry passenger from one point to another.
 
Built-up using sophisticated Swiss Technology, the Aerial Ropeway has the capacity of 10+1 or 825 kg. per cabin/car. The cable car takes approximately 151.7 seconds (2 minutes 31 seconds) to finish one way journey. The ride in this cable car offers gorgeous views of snow-decked Himalayan Mountains, eye-shaped Naini Lake and breath-taking view of the entire hill station. The Aerial Ropeway at Nainital is one-of-its-kind in the country.

Connectivites

Road: Nainitalis connected by excellent road condition and offers pleasant drive. State transport and private buses are available for reaching Aerial Ropeway and other attractions of Nainital. Deluxe and semi deluxe buses are also available from Delhi.

Railway: Kathgodam Railway Station located at a distance of about 24 km. from Nainital is the nearest station to reach Aerial Ropeway. Major cities of the country like Agra, Bareilly, Lucknow and Delhi are well-connected to this station.

Airway: Pantnagar Airport (about 55 km.) is the nearest airport. However, for better flight connectivity choose Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi (located about 290 km. distance) or Jolly Grant Airport (located about 255 km. distance). Private taxis are available outside the airport for convenient travelling.
