One of the many similar constructions across India, Birla Mandir is a white marble Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara (Lord Vishnu). The marble used in the construction was imported from Rajasthan. The temple is a wonderful architectural masterpiece showcasing elements of South India, Rajasthan and Utkala temple styles.

Beautiful inscriptions on marble are worth exploring. The main deity has his 11 ft. high image made of granite. The temple complex rests atop Naubath Pahad which is around 280 ft. high. There are other shrines dedicated to Padmavati and Andal, the consorts of Venkateshwara. A Buddhist temple is also located within the premises.

It is a great experience to view nearby attractions like Hussain Sagar Lake and various gardens from the temple. Evening chants at the temple are extremely soothing for the mind.

Road: Hyderabad is served by multiple National Highways (7, 9 and 202) and State Highways (1, 2, 4, 5 and 6). State transport buses from Andhra Pradesh and other neighbouring states operate between Hyderabad and many important destinations of the region. Apart from deluxe and Volvo buses, one can also depend on taxis to reach the city. Birla Mandir is located at the southern end of Hussain Sagar Lake and can be accessed in local buses, taxis, cabs and auto-rickshaws.

Railway: The temple is conveniently accessible from all four railway stations of Hyderabad, namely Secunderabad (about 6 km.), Nampally (about 3 km.), Kachiguda (about 5 km.) and Begumpet (about 6 km.).

Airway: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport of Hyderabad is about 26 km. from the temples. Taxis, cabs and autos are available from here to reach the temple. Popular air carriers operate flights between Hyderabad and many important air terminals of the world.
