The trek, apart from covering the main highlight i.e. Har Ki Doon valley also covers beautiful sights of Sankri, situated at the height of 1950 m. and Osla, located at the height of 2560 m. above the sea level. Har Ki Doon trek is a must try for all adventure loving people. Trekers have spectacular views of Swargarohini – I, II, III, Bandarpoonch, Blackpeak and Ruinsara peaks in this trek.

Arrive at Dehradun in the early morning by train or bus.( All the arrangements to arrive Dehradun are to be done by trekkers themselves.) On arrival, our associate will contact you and drive you towards Sankri which is located at an elevation of 1950 m. above the sea level. Sankri is the starting point of Har Ki Doon trek. The drive will take approximately 10 hours to reach Sankri. During the drive, you come across beautiful mountain ranges and magnificent surroundings. The view during the drive will never fail to keep you amazed. Take lunch in between the halts. After reaching the little village of Sankri, check into the hotel for overnight stay.
The day starts with early morning breakfast and few stretching exercises. Start the drive from Sankri to Taluka. The total distance of the route is 12 km. Enjoy the pleasant weather and beautiful surroundings during the drive. On reaching Taluka, prepare for the trek from Taluka to Osla. The trek route is 14 km. long. Osla is situated at the height of 2560 m. above the sea level. During the trek, you cross many bridges and few waterfalls. The green surroundings of thick forests consisting of a variety of conifer trees make the trek route Himalayan wildlife comprising of leopard, bear, deer, blue sheep and a lot more can be seen if you are lucky enough divine.. After reaching Osla in evening, enjoy the fresh air and cold breeze. Later take the dinner in a bonfire. Overnight stay is arranged in the camp at Osla.
Start this day with hot morning breakfast. The destination for today is Har Ki Doon. The trek from Osla to Har Ki Doon is 11 km. long. Har Ki Doon is situated at the height of 3506 m above the sea level. The trek route is surrounded by hilly mountains and beautiful meadows. The trail is bit steep having gradual ascent. Along the way, you see wild orchids which make you feel not so tired. The view ofSwargarohini and Juandar glaciersis eye pleasing and makes the trek memorable. After arrival at Har Ki Doon valley in the Garhwal Himalayas, experience nature’s beauty, relax and enjoy the delicious meal. Then head towards exploring the place. Trek in the direction of the glaciers of Juandar. Relish the snow-capped mountains with patches of green grass over it. Take pictures of the beautiful scenic view. Later settle in the campsite for an overnight stay. Enjoy the majestic view of Har Ki Dun and Swargarohini peaks right in front of you.
The day begins with early morning breakfast and then you head for the trek from Har Ki Dun to Osla. The trek route is 11 km. long. Trekking on this route is relatively easier as most part of the route is downhill trek. It takes around 3 to 4 hours to cover the distance of 11 km. The trekking is along the same route. Relish the beautiful landscapes and the mountains. After arrival at the Osla village, explore the village, meet the locals there and know interesting things about the valley. Later have the hot meal and prepare for an overnight stay at the camp.
The fifth day of the trek starts with early morning breakfast and then you head towards trek from Osla to Sankri. The total route distance from Osla to Sankri is 26 km. which is divided between 14 km. of trekking and 12 km. of the drive. The trek route is uneven and at places have steep climbing. During the trek, you notice rich and diverse species of flora and fauna surrounding the valley. Beautiful birds can be seen chirping and flying from one place to another. The snow-capped mountains in the background make the trek more exciting. After covering 14 km. of the trek, you reach a point where our team member will drive you back to Sankri. Relax during the drive and enjoy the scenic beauty. After arrival at Sankri, enjoy the tasty dinner and head for an overnight stay at the camp in Sankri.
This is the last day of the tour. Take early morning breakfast and head for your onward destination. You can drive from Sankri to Haridwar. The total distance is 250 km. which takes around 8 hours of drive. Another option you have is to drive from Sankri to Dehradun which is also around 250 km. and takes around 8 to 10 hours. Pre-select your return destination before the trek starts based on your suitability.

  • Trekkers opting for the Har ki Dun trek must have basic knowledge of how to use sleeping tents, sleeping bags, toilet tents and mountain mannerisms.
  • The Har ki Doon trek is ideal for both experienced trekkers and beginners. However, beginners must ensure that they have a good physical stamina as the trek can get a little rigorous.
  • Trekking can be more enjoyable if your rucksack is light and well-organized.
  • Trekkers must practice jogging for 4 kilometers a day prior to the Har ki Dun trek. Also, a regular practice of holding the breath for 25-30 seconds must be done.
  • A trekker goes until high altitudes in this trek. Therefore acclimatization must be done prior to the trek.
  • Purola and Sankri regions of the trek have weak mobile networks. Therefore make sure you inform your family well in advance.
  • The nights during the trek can get extremely cold. Therefore it is important to remember the three rule formula of wearing woolens, inners and lower wear. This will keep a trekker comfortable in temperatures as low as – 10 degrees.
