Lord Brahma, the Creator of the Universe according to the Hindu Mythology, has only few temples on the planet and that at Pushkar is the most prominent one. Known as the King of Pilgrimages, the temple attracts hundreds of thousands of devotees every year. The most striking features of the temple are its red shikhara (spire), hamsa bird motifs (hamsa or swan being Brahma’s mount), stone slabs and marble floors. Silver coins inlaid by the pilgrims and a silver turtle are other prime attractions.

The idol of Lord Brahma is made of marble and is accompanied by the images of his consorts Savitri and Gayatri. Located close to the temple are the attractions like holy Lake Pushkar, sacred ghats (banks) and hundreds of temples dedicated to different Hindu deities. The festival of Kartik Poornima is celebrated with great zeal and zest at the temple.
