Detailed Itinerary:
Day 01: Delhi - Leh
Proceed to Domestic Airport to catch your flight for Leh, on arrival, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day free for your own leisure & excursion activities. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 02: Leh
After finishing breakfast proceed for full day excursion to Shey, Thiksey and Hemis Gompas. Shey Gompa is situated on the top of a hill. The statues made of copper and glided with gold are worth seeing.Thiksey Gompa has a beautiful view of Indus Valley. Wall paintings of this Gompa are very interesting. Then proceed to Hemis Monastery which is the oldest,wealthiest and largest Gompa in Leh with beautiful paintings stupas,famous for the Hemis Festival and returnback to the hotel till evening. Dinner & Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 03: Leh - Pangong Tso [154 kms/ 5 hrs]
After an early breakfast in the hotel drive upstream along the Right Bank of the Indus River then continue towards Chemdey Gompa and continue along the steep roadside towards Chang La (17,350 ft.). Permission has to be verified at Zingrul travelling check point, 12 kms short of the pass.There is a temple at the top of the Chang La and lots of prayer flags.
Further proceed for next travelling Check Point at Tsoltakh. First village is Durbuk followed by Thangse, both are big army stations. From this point to Lukung is about 32 kms drive along a rough dirty track through spectacular Barren Mountain scenery, which takes around 2 hrs.
Pangong Lake is a very long narrow spread of crystal clear water situated at an altitude of around 14,500 ft. Rare black necked cranes and other migratory birds are often seen here. Late in the afternoon return back to Leh. Dinner & overnight stay atHotel.
Day 04: Leh
After enjoying breakfast in the Hotel. In afternoon visit Shanti Stupa built by Japanese, Shankar Gompa is associated with Spituk Gompa and serves as the residence of the Head Lama. The painting on the walls is worth seeing.Leh Palace is to be visited by foot as it is situated on a hillock. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: Leh
After breakfast proceed for an excursion to Khardung-la, one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Khardung-la is the gateway towards Nubra Valley, enroute have a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains which includes Parcha Khangri, Stok Khangri etc. Return to Leh for hot lunch. In Afternoon you are free for personal activities. Enjoy dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06: Leh - Delhi
After breakfast transfer to Leh Airport to catch flight for Delhi for your onward destination with happy momories.
