Puri Holiday Package would take you to some of the finest white sand beaches in the world apart from a visit to Lord Jagannath's Temple.Some of the sightseeing places that you may visit as a part of your Puri Holiday Package are Jagannath Temple, Puri Beach, Konark Beach, Raghurajpur Artist Village and Sakshi Gopal Temple

Itinerary Details

Day by Day itineraryDay 1: The Konark Sun Temple and Arrive at Puri

Arrive at Bhubaneswar and head towards Puri.

En-route is the first stop of the Puri holiday package, the Konark Sun Temple belonging to the 13th century. This exquisite temple is believed to have been constructed in 1255 CE by King Narasimhadeva 1 of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty. The Konark Sun Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has presented in the various list of Seven Wonders of the World. The entire complex of this temple is in the shape of an enormous chariot consisting of carved stone pillars, walls and wheels. This complex is purely in the form of ruins currently, however it does not stop a tourist from experiencing the true richness of the bygone era.

Continue the Puri holiday package and head towards Puri which is at a distance of 35 kilometers from this temple. On arrival at Puri, check-in at your hotel.

Day 2: Chilika Lake and Puri Beach

Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast and commence this day of your Puri holiday package.

Head to the Chilika Lake which is known to be the largest internal salt water pond in Asia. This lake is considered to be a paradise for nature lovers and bird watchers. The Chilika Lake consists of small islands and numerous fisheries and salt pans. A wide assortment of flora and fauna can be found in this pear shaped lake.

Spend the evening of the Puri holiday package on the elegant white sand Puri Beach. The sun gleaming on the crystal clear water of the Bay of Bengal gives this beach a picturesque feel. This beach is well known for its sand sculptures curated by international sand artist, Sudarshan Patnaik. Take the pleasure of the lovely sunset and have a relaxed evening by this beach.

Day 3: Jagannath Temple and Lokanath Temple

Enjoy a luxurious breakfast and head for temple sightseeing around this town.

On day three of your Puri holiday package, visit the Jagannath Temple built by King Indradyumna in the 11th century. This temple holds a great cultural significance and is included in the Char Dham Yatra for Hindus. This temple complex consists of a high shrine and a number of mini temples within its premises.

The next temple in your Puri holiday package is the Lokanath Temple. It is believed that the Lingam in this temple was installed by Lord Ramachandra himself. The Lingam is immersed in water and Goddess Ganga flows above it as a stream. The Lingam can be seen on Pankodhar Ekadasi, the day before Shivaratri when the water is distanced from the Lingam. Thousands of devotees flock to the temple on this holy day.

Thanks to Waytoindia for 10 day in Rajasthan- Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Mount Abu and Ahmedabad. Everything from pickup from Jaipur airport to drop at Ahmedabad airport was very smooth. The hotels booked in Jaipur and Udaipur were amazing. In Jaisalmer the camel ride and Jeep safari though a bit expensive was a good experience. The car and the driver for the entire 10 days was very good. Thanks to the driver Mahesh, who drove the 2 ladies for the entire 10 days safely and dropped us in time for the return flight to Bangalore.

Rare Facts:

Puri consists of a number of beaches which the Puri holiday package takes you to. The movement of the breeze as a general phenomenon world over is from sea to land in the daytime and viceversa in the night time. However, in Puri, it is witnessed to be the other way round.
Aeroplanes are restricted to fly above the Jagannath temple. However, in Puri, it is noticed that even birds do not fly above the area of the temple. Your Puri holiday package takes you to visit this historic temple.
It is believed that from any place you visit in Puri, you will notice that the Sudarshan Charka (places at the top of the Jagannath Temple) is facing you.

Tips for Travel:

The months of October-February are considered ideal to visit Puri due to the pleasantly cool weather during this time.
If you plan to take your Puri holiday package during the months of summer, make sure you carry cool and comfortable light clothing.
