A fabulous depiction of the Indian art and architecture and a symbol of devotion among Indians, Akshardham Temple is one of the must-visit tourist places in Gujarat. The centre of attraction is the monument building constructed using pink sandstone and that boasts of enthralling elaborated carvings and sculpted pillars. The building enshrines the 7-foot high golden idol of Lord Swaminarayan to whom the temple is dedicated.

Sahajanand Van surrounding the monument is an enticing garden which houses beautiful lakes, fountains, waterfalls and herbal gardens. Special area has been devoted towards children’s park where a variety of rides and games can be enjoyed. Akshardham has a unique reputation of holding light and sound shows at its exhibition halls. Sat-Chit-Anand Water Show, Mystic India Show and various spiritual shows are truly inspiring.

When in Gandhinagar, don’t forget to visit other attractions like Sarita Udhyan, Adalaj Stepwell, Indroda Park and Mahatma Mandir.

Warnings:
