Presenting a wonderful amalgamation of history and natural setting, Anjengo Fort is a famous landmark in the vicinity of Anjengo – a coastal town located about 12 km. in Varkala. Sandwiched between the sea and backwaters,Anjengo Fortis a place of historic importance. The Anjengo Fort is the place where one can unearth the odds and ends of the old English Fort.
Now under the fortification of National Heritage Monuments, tourists visiting this fortcan also explore some notable tombstones and a garden of Anjengo Fort premises. When compared against other forts of Kerala, this fort lacks the distinctive look and feel of an Indian fort. Near the Anjengo Fort, you can take an evening stroll to the nearby Muthalapuzhi Lake.
You can also visit some of the nearby attractions viz. Sivagiri Mutt, Janardana Swami Temple, Varkala Tunnel, Sarkara Devi Temple, Kappil Lake, Old Light House and Varkala Beach.

Airway: Trivandrum International Airport (about 35 km.) is the nearest airport. Taxis are the best medium to reach the city. The airport has frequent for the major cities of the country.
