Popular as the ‘Spa of the South’, Courtallam is home to stupendous waterfalls formed by many small streams at the Western Ghats. Constant rainfall during the monsoons adds voluminous waters to these streams that follow the journeys through herbal forests before converting into cascades. Known for healing and medicinal qualities, these waterfalls boast of heavenly grandeur hard to emulate.

A total of nine waterfalls attract flocks of tourists. These include Main Falls (Peraruvi), Small Falls (Chitraruvi), Shenbagadevi Falls, Honey Falls (Thenaruvi), Five Falls (Aintharuvi), VIP Falls (Pazhathotta Aruvi), Old Courtallam Falls, Tiger Falls (Puli Aruvi) and Milk Falls. Many of these cascades promise stimulating bathing experience, though some are restricted due to risks of flash floods.

Temples as well as idols of many Hindu deities add spirituality to the surroundings. Cool weather, sprinkling water droplets and unbound natural beauty can keep you glued to these spots for hours.
