Previously called Dogra Art Gallery, it is now a world-famous museum located in the Pink Hall of Mubarak Mandi Palace. The most striking feature of the museum is the collection of more than 800 astounding paintings brought from Basoli, Jammu and Kangra. In addition, there are several paintings depicting modern art, Baru oil paintings and royal portraits.

A visit to the museum also introduces the rare collections of coins, old manuscripts, sculptures, arms, musical instruments and a huge variety of textiles from various regions of India. Weapons ranging from knives, swords, khukaries to revolvers and pistols are among the most notable highlights. Terracotta items, especially the female busts, discovered during excavations also attract one’s attention.

Black marble Shiva statue, carpentry tools, jewellery items, mineral stones and papier mache items are worth exploring as well. You must locate the gold plated bow and arrow that was once possessed by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan.
