One of the oldest forts in Himachal Pradesh, Kamru Fort is situated at a distance of about 2 km. from Sangla Valley in Sarahan. Posing amidst snow decked mountains, surrounded by dense forest and lush green fields, Kamru Fort has a magnificent idol of Lord Buddha (on the main gate) and Goddess Kamakhya (on the third floor).

Designed like a tower, this five storey temple is positioned on a 55 sq.ft. stone platform. The inviting architecture makes Kamru Fort one of the popular tourist destinations in the state. The impressive wooden balcony and attractively carved gates underlines the beauty of the fort.

The fort also has a Badrinath Temple that becomes a splendid venue of a fair, held once in three years, in the honour of Lord Badrinath. Tourists can visit several interesting nearby locations like Chitkul, Bhabha Valley, Jeori and Sangla Valley etc.

Trekking is one of the popular activities tourists can enjoy here.
