One of the most stunning beaches in the country, Marina Beach gets the credit of being the longest natural urban beach in India and second longest beach in the world. Unfolded in about 13 km. the beach starts from Fort St.George and ends at Mahabalipuram.
Popular for its serene environment and pristine beauty, Marina Beach is one of the most renowned and beautiful tourist hotspots in the country. One of the biggest and finest attractions that underline the beauty of Marina Beach is the British style buildings stationed opposite the beach.
Known for its wide area along the coast, Marina Beach attracts nearly 30,000 visitors during weekends. Here, the experience of witnessing the enamouring sunrise and sunset is one in the million. Decorated with palm trees dancing on the music of cool breeze and glittering sands, visitors can enjoy horseback ride or a relaxed walk in the evening.
The roadside along the beach has impressive statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Sir Thomas Munro, Triumph of Labour statue and other prominent Tamil names. Tourist to this beach can explore the nearby quaint buildings like Chepauk Palace, Victory War Memorial, University of Madras and Fort St. George Complex etc.

Connectivites

Road: State transport buses (TSTC) and other private buses are available to reach the nearby cities. The road condition is extremely good. Deluxe buses are available from Bangalore, Cochin and Hyderabad.

Railway: Chennai Central (located about 4 km.) is the nearest railhead to reach Marina Beach. The station is well-connected to major cities through express trains.

Airway: Anna International Airport (located about 17 km.) is the nearest airport to reach Marina Beach. You can book a cab from airport to the beach.

I planned a South India tour from Chennai to Kochi. I asked from many different travel companies but I got the best and cheapest offer by 'Way to India'. That was two weeks travel plan. We visited so many wonderful places and we got enough time for some individual program too. In the first week we visited the historical places like temples, museums and some beaches. In the second week we visited amazing natural attraction. All happened at exactly fixed itinerary. We traveled with a comfortable panoramic mini bus and the bus driver (Mr. Ram) was very kind and talented who could manage a good restaurant for dinner and lunch every day. The recommended hotels were correct and better than the chosen category. The connecting with 'Way to India' was a great experience for us and Mr Mohit was very pleasant and flexible for our request. Thanks to Waytoindia for 10 day in Rajasthan- Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Mount Abu and Ahmedabad. Everything from pickup from Jaipur airport to drop at Ahmedabad airport was very smooth. The hotels booked in Jaipur and Udaipur were amazing. In Jaisalmer the camel ride and Jeep safari though a bit expensive was a good experience. The car and the driver for the entire 10 days was very good. Thanks to the driver Mahesh, who drove the 2 ladies for the entire 10 days safely and dropped us in time for the return flight to Bangalore.
