Some of the must visit places at Sarnath are mentioned below:
Dharmekh Stupa
Dharmekh Stupa

Even though most of the ancient buildings in Sarnath were damaged by the Turks, the ruins still boast the impressive 128 feet high Dharmekh Stupa with 93 ft. in diameter. Dating back to 200 BC, it is here where the Buddha preached his first sermon.

Mulagandhakuti Vihara
Mulagandhakuti Vihara

Although in ruins, this is the place where Buddha had spent his first rainy season doing meditation. A writer later described it to be a 200 feet high pavement with 100 niches having a Buddha carving on each wall. A huge Buddha statue shows him turning the wheel of the law. The eastern walls have beautiful paintings, and the deer park behind still attracts deer.

Ashoka Pillar

This tourist attraction at Sarnath somehow survived the Turkish invasion but was found broken during archaeological excavations. However, the base stands on the original site and bears some interesting carvings. The lion capital atop the pillar is now displayed at the Sarnath Archaeological Museum (along with other important Buddhist treasures).

Other famous attractions of Sarnath include the 6 national temples built by various Asian communities, Chaukhandi Stupa, Sarnath Museum, Modern Reception Centre, Dharmarajika Stupa and Bodhi tree planted by Anagarika Dharmapala. Do not miss on visiting any of these places as each place has its own interesting significance.
