Neermahal Palace

Neermahal Palace is the top most visited tourist attraction in Agartala. 'Neer' means water and 'Mahal' means palace. So, Neermahal is basically a palace built on water. The palace is situated in the heart of the Rudrasagar Lake and is second of its kind in India after the Jal Mahal in Rajasthan.

Ujjayanta Palace is another tourist attraction which is most frequented by the tourists in Agartala. It was earlier a royal palace built by Maharaja Radha Kishore Manikya but, now serves as the meeting place of the Tripura Legislative Assembly. Jagannath Temple and Uma Maheshwar Temple are situated in the premises of this beautiful palace.

At a distance of around 1 km. from Ujjayanta Palace, Kunjaban Palace is situated atop the Kunjaban Hill and offers picturesque views of the surroundings. 


Buddha Temple
Buddha Temple

Buddha Temple, also known as Venuban Vihar, is a religious site for Buddhists and is situated in the middle of the city. The temple has two Buddha idols of Burmese origin. 


Among other must visit places at Agartala are Rose Valley Amusement Park, Nehru Park, Government Museum, Mariyam Nagar Church and Gedu Miar Masjid.
