Alchi Monastery is a complex housing some beautiful Buddhist temples. All the Buddhist monasteries are built on hill tops but this is the only monastery which is built on flat ground. Two main temples inside the complex are Alchi Du Khang and Sum Tsek. Wall paintings dated back to the 12th century is one of the main reasons for which the tourists visit this monastery. 

Du-Khang is the main temple residing in the complex of Alchi Monastery. The doorways of the Du-Khang temple are carved with figurines of Boddhisatvas. The image of Vairocana is surrounded with four Buddha manifestations. Wall paintings and murals on the walls are dotted with yellow, green and red colours. 

This is the other most visited temple inside the Alchi Monastery. This temple is situated on the left of Du-Khang. Main attractions of Sum-Tsek are the three massive statues of four-armed Bodhisattvas.
