Mukteshwar

Famous for the 350 year old Mukteshwar Dham, the temple of Lord Shiva, Mukteshwar is a famous tourist attraction. A little away from Ramgarh is the beautiful hill station of Mukteshwar which is frequented by the travellers for religious and recreational purpose!

The house of Mahadevi Verma, a famous personality of Hindi literature and a woman activist, is now transformed to a museum by Uttranchal Government.  Originally constructed in 1936 and named as Meera Kutir, the building is under Kumaon University’s care now.

Other than these, you can come across some awe inspiring colonial architectural buildings like The Old Bungalow (1830), The Writers Bungalow (1860) dating back to British time in India. Some other notable Bungalows include Vista Villa (1994) and Rose Cottage (1996) too. Away from city disturbance and ideal for oozing creativity, the place is perfect for film shooting, writing, painting or any creative activity. This hill station is also known for its adventure sports. The sports like mountain biking, rock climbing and camping are main attractions of Ramgarh.
