This pictoral valley of flora and fauna ranges from sub-tropical to alpine forests. The dense vegetations owes to the huge silver fir trees, vibrant orchids, ferns, an array of rhododendron and different species of bamboo. This biodiverse tourist spot is also a popular zone for trekking.

Ziro is mainly known for its fish rearing and sprawling paddy fields. The Apatani agriculture is the traditional irrigation system that combines paddy farming and fish culture together. Once the paddy is transplanted to the wet rice cultivation field, the fish fingerlings are kept in Pakho/Hetey (channels made in paddy field for draining out water). These channels are of knee-deep height and the fish stay there for 2–3 months before harvesting. 

This is a hillock, also referred to as Army Putu sometimes, where an army cantonment was sited during the sixties. Tourists come here to enjoy the bird’s eye view of Ziro valley.

Sited at about 3.5 km. from Hapoli on a high altitude, this fish farm is the breeding place for high altitude fishes and the fingerlings are sold during the season of paddy cultivation.

A huge Shiva Lingam is situated in the Kardo forest located in Ziro. The height of the lingam is around 25 ft with 22 ft width. Many devotees visit this place owing to its religious significance and popularity.

Lying at the end of the city, this centre has a unique collection of bamboo and cane articles displaying intricate craftsmanship of the tribal community of Ziro.
