Jaipur In a Day – What Not to Miss
If you have just 1 day in hand to explore the magnificent Jaipur city, there are 6 things you really can’t afford to miss.
- City Palace: You must visit this sprawling home of the Maharaja situated just right at the heart of the city while on the same day Jaipur tour and it is the symbol of Rajput and Mughal architecture.Time to visit this place is 9.30 am to 5 pm and you need at least 1 hour 30 minutes to visit the palace as well as the Jaigarh Fort. Indians have to pay Rs. 75 while the foreigners have to pay Rs. 300 for entrance. The fee includes the fee for the camera and entry fee to Jaigarh Fort.
- Hawa Mahal:The next place to visit in 1 day Jaipur tour is this semi-octagonal 5 storied monument having 152 windows. It remains open from 10 is to 4.30 pm. Its entry fee is Rs. 50 for the foreigners and Rs. 10 for the Indians.
- JantarMantar:This 18th Century Observatory opens at 9 am and closes at 4.30 pm and its entry fee is Rs. 100 for the foreigners and for Indians, it is Rs. 20.
- Amer Fort:The perfect combination of Hindu and Muslim architecture is situated 7 km north of the city of Jaipur. So you take an auto-rickshaw to reach there during your same day Jaipur tour. It opens at 9 am and closes at 4.30 am. Entry fee for the Indians is Rs. 25 while that for the foreigners is Rs. 200. Don’t miss the elephant ride in the Amer Fort. This will charge Rs 900 including all the taxes for 2 people. Elephant ride is possible in the morning till 11.30 am. You have to reach there early to book it has high demand and you cannot pre-book it. Amer fort can be visited in the night also from 7 pm to 10 pm and it will cost you Rs. 100 for 1 person.
- JalMahal:While returning from Amer fort, go to the Jal Mahal situated in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake. It is included in the same day Jaipur tour package. You will need 15- 20 minutes to view the splendor of this place from the bank of the lake.
- Shopping: While returning you can take a stop at M I Road. Johari Bazaar, which is the chief shopping place of Jaipur to buy traditional Rajasthani ornaments and handicrafts etc.
