Also known as The Basilica of Bom Jesus, this is a heritage site in old Goa and one of the oldest churches of India. Inlaid with precious stones on marble flooring, the church preserves the mortal remains of St. Francis. The mortal remains of the saint still attract enormous number of tourists and devotees from all around the globe. His body is kept for public viewing every ten years.

Vagator beach is a very unique beach about 15 km. from Bardez. It has huge red cliffs over it adding to the charm. Tourists are lured to this place by two bubbling springs making it an amazing sight for the tourists. When seen from the cliffs, black dots are seen on the beach, which are Black lavarocks. The combination of silver sand, black lava rocks and blue water makes it an amazing view for the tourists.

This temple is devoted to Lord Mangueshi who was an incarnation of Lord Shiva. This temple is around 400 years old and has simple yet elegant architecture.

This is undoubtedly one of the best places in Goa located around 12 km. from Mapusa. This fort made by Portuguese can be easily seen from Vagator beach. A a hill leading the fort came to lime light when a Bollywood movie ‘Dil Chahta hai’ was shot here. 
 

Fort Aguada has the first ever constructed light house in Asia and is located around 22 km. from Bardez. Fort Aguada was constructed in such a way that ships could be prevented from entering into the river Mandovi.

This beautiful beach with extended stretch of silver white sand situated to the south of Miramar is a small coral reef hill. There are many interesting stories attached to this place, one being that a girl Dona, the child of the governor fell in love with a local fisherman. However destiny had determined otherwise and the couple had to take solace in death.

Baga beach is among one of the cleaner and best beaches in Goa. It is a perfect beach in terms of entertainment, food, Water sports. Baga lures the tourists by offering a chance to enjoy wind surfing between January and March.
