Dry Fish Market

Located at Jagi Road in Marigaon, the dry fish market is the largest one in Asia and serves as a special attraction to tourists. This market sells diverse sea and freshwater fish brought from Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Bihar. Apart from commercial selling in neighbouring areas, some of the dry fish are also exported to Malaysia, Singapore, and some Southeast Asian countries.

Tropical forests in the south and west parts form the main attractions of Marigaon. The area has three reserved forests, namely Khulahat, Sunaikuchi and Bura Mayong. The common plant species found here are gomari, sechu and segun or teakwood. 

Sita Jakhala
Sita Jakhala

Sita Jakhala is an ancient temple on the banks of River Killing. It is dedicated to Goddess Sita and Lord Hanuman. As mythology says, Sage Valmiki constructed the stone steps that reached the river, so that Sita could easily reach the river from the temple.
