The dam is about 17 km. away from Nelliyampathy and the reservoir was built across the rivers Meenchadyppuzha and Padippuzha. There are facilities for boating available here that form a major tourist attraction as it is a beautiful place for picnic.

This place is 8km. away from the Nelliyampathy and is the place mentioned in the Ramayan; a very important part of Hindu mythology. From the Seethargunduyou can see a beautiful 100 high waterfall that is breathtaking.

There is a lot to do around the area of Palagapandy. There are tea, coffee and cardamom estates around the area which are a must visit. One can also enjoy some wildlife here and there are some beautiful species of birds and thus, is a treat for bird lovers.

This place can be reached by jeep or can be trekked to from Palagapandy and enjoy a picturesque view of Nelliyampathy.
