Jodhpur’s Spirit High for Rajasthan - International Folk Festival 2013

Endorsed by UNESCO and applauded by the international folk artists, Rajasthan International Folk Festival is an exclusive celebration of folk music. The 2013 instalment of the annual festival is expected to be more spectacular than ever. The five day long festival begins on October 17 at the majestic Mehrangarh Fort of royal Jodhpur City.

Every year, the festival becomes an exclusive platform for the desert artists to showcase their talent and hundreds of years old folk music to the world. This year, the festival extends its reach to encompass the elements of Bhojpuri music. Mewar music community called Mangniyars are also lined up for performance at the festival.

Other big and internationally famed names to make appearance at RIFF include rubab player Daud Khan, sarangi player Dilshad Khan, Manu Chao and the Gypsy Kings. Another highlight would be workshops and sessions on Rajasthani traditional musical instruments.

Donor passes are available for limited period of time only. Jodhpur with its own airport and railway station is easy to access. Road connectivity from many neighbouring cities is excellent and one can easily find good accommodations to stay.
